Last week, the equity and bond markets were spooked by earnings, inflation, higher interest rates and concerns over tomorrow’s Presidential Election. Emotions are running high, and many anticipate that it may take time to determine the winner in what is expected to be a very close race. In addition, we have an important Fed meeting this week, with the Fed deciding whether to continue the path of lowering interest rates. The market is expecting the Fed to lower interest rates by 25 basis points. And since we remain in the 3Q earnings season, we would expect both the equity and fixed income markets to continue to have volatility this week.
